Nathan Trotter & Co. is seeking motivated Production Technicians to join our team at our new Martinsville, Virginia manufacturing facility.

Production Technicians are at the heart of our manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for safely operating production equipment, monitoring manufacturing processes, maintaining product quality, and supporting efficient, continuous production. Through cross-training across multiple production areas, Production Technicians help create a flexible, high-performing workforce that supports the long-term success of our Martinsville operation.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely operate production equipment and manufacturing processes while following established operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance, process conditions, and product quality, identifying and reporting abnormalities or equipment concerns.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic operator care to support safe, reliable production.
  • Transport, stage, load, unload, and move raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and production supplies using approved material handling equipment.
  • Collect production samples and assist with quality control activities.
  • Maintain accurate production records, operating logs, inspections, and other required manufacturing documentation.
  • Support equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, cleaning activities, and other production support functions.
  • Participate in cross-training to develop proficiency across multiple production processes and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance, laboratory, and other team members while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical, vocational, or trade school training in manufacturing, industrial technology, mechanical systems, welding, electrical systems, or a related field is a plus.
  • One or more years of manufacturing, production, warehouse, industrial, construction, or other hands-on work experience preferred.
  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment, industrial machinery, forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely operate equipment, use basic hand tools, and quickly learn manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and follow operating procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and production documentation.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately record production information.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize quality issues, equipment concerns, and process abnormalities.
  • Dependable work ethic with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn multiple production processes through cross-training and continuous development.
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or other industrial equipment certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and work safely in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
